Bio-Diesel and Eduardo Eurnekian

America Corporation is also looking for excellence inthe biological fuel field. For this reason, a brand new plant for bio-dieselprocessing was designed and built in Santa Fé, Argentina.

We Are talking about Unitec Bio, a bio-diesel megaplant that was built just a few yards away from Parana river, right in PuertoGeneral San Martín, that will produce 220.000 annual tons of bio-fuel.

In the middle of an energetic crisis, lots of carsoccupies blocks and blocks looking for fuel became a painful reality inArgentina. That's why Eurnekian's group invested almost 60 million dollars forthe realisation of Unitec Bio, a true and hoping alternative facing the currentproblems in this field. As Eduardo Eurnekian said, "we are linked withBunge And Born, who are appointed to provide soy oil, that is later processedby us to create the bio-fuel".

But this is not the only item on Unitec Bio's agenda. The company is already investing on investigation and development for enteringin the second generation of bio-fuel, a project that will improve therelationship between consumed energy and carbon trapped in the atmosphere. Thisidea puts the company among the leaders on a fast-growing market.

Eurnekian indicates that the next movement for thecompany will be bio-ethanol "that is the next step, the idea is to build aplant just like this one. The process, though, is different, and the rawmaterial is sugar cane. We are on the research and analysis stage"

To invest on bio-fuel not only talks about the idea ofan evolution on the fuel field, but also about caring about the environment.
